JJ lives with the Echols family in Missouri, where he will get to enjoy agility, obedience, and tracking. Kathy is an owner-instructor at the Columbia Canine Sports Center. From an e-mail Kathy sent when JJ was about 4 months old:

JJ is doing very well and has been enormous fun. Everyone who meets him and has known whippets has commented on how outgoing he is. He's being a puppy ... learning some clicker training basics and basic obedience; doing great on beginning tracking (he has a deep nose and hasn't been looking much even when stuff has been going on around when we've tracked). He's been doing some baby agility stuff as weather permits: tunnels, tippy board, etc. He's gotten to run with the regular group of dogs we walk with: 2 border terriers, 1 lab, 2 springers, 2 dobes, 1 min pin, and 1 sheltie, with others coming and going from that group. He has been doing very well with the terriers--Briar (all 11 lb of her) thinks he is great fun, and vice versa (they wrestle, play stalk and chase each other; play tug, etc.).
